Project Description
The CARICA project (Capitalization of Adriatic – Ionian Intermodal Connections to support the EUSAIR Action plan) capitalizes on longterm cooperation activities of Ionian and Adriatic ports. More specifically, it capitalizes on the results of three projects of the IPA CBC 2007-2013 Programme, ADRIATICMOS (1st call), INTERMODADRIA (2nd call), and EASYCONNECTING (call for strategic projects) which contribute to the development of transportation in the Adriatic-Ionian region, while aiming to enhance interconnectivity with all EU member states.
Description of Provided Services
The company provides the following services:- Financial Management and submission of project progress reports
- Supporting the Lead Partner in elaborating the plan for WP3
- Analysis of obstacles faced by the ports of Corfu and Igoumenitsa
- Analysis of possible marine routes and relevant priorities in the Adriatic-Ionian region
- Action plan regarding the policies and priorities that should be implemented in the IPA region towards the development of networks of commercial activities – Methodology and criteria for overcoming obstacles and the lack of networks/connections
- Elaboration of specialized studies on the development of networks and services – CBA, financial forecasts on the acceleration of investment, feasibility study regarding the requirements for resolving difficulties
- Identification of possible funding sources that are already available in the EU and specifically within IPA regions
- Analysis of the PPP funding schemes with proposals regarding incentives on intermodal transportation
- Supporting the Lead Partner in implementing thematic panel meetings
